Block distracting apps while you study
StudyDork is a free iPhone study app with an app blocker built in: choose the apps that distract you and StudyDork blocks them until your study session ends.
Use a study timer or Pomodoro sessions, block distracting apps and track your hours by subject. Whether you're preparing for HSC, VCE, university exams or homework, make each session count.
How app blocking works on iPhone
StudyDork uses Apple's Screen Time framework to block apps. The first time you turn blocking on, iOS asks you to give StudyDork Screen Time access for your own device.
You then choose what to block in Apple's own app picker. You can pick single apps, such as Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat, whole app categories or websites.
When a session starts, those apps are locked until it ends. Blocking keeps working even if you close StudyDork.
What you see when you open a blocked app
Opening a blocked app shows a StudyDork screen instead of the app. During a session it tells you how much time is left, with a single button to close the app and get back to work.
That pause is the point. Most of the time you meant to check your phone for ten seconds and lose twenty minutes. The block screen stops the habit before it starts.
Blocking is optional, and it pays
Every session can run with blocking off, with your default block list, or with a custom list. Off and the default list are free.
Sessions with apps blocked earn 30% more XP, so locking your phone down helps you climb the weekly leaderboard faster.
StudyDork Pro adds custom block lists. You can keep a separate list for a subject or a clan session, so a coding class can allow the apps it needs while an essay session blocks everything.
Unlocking early takes real effort
Most app blockers let you turn them off with one tap. StudyDork makes leaving early cost something.
On the free plan you can stop a session by watching an ad or paying 400 gems. StudyDork Pro replaces those with physical unlock actions, which you set up yourself:
- T-pose: hold your arms out for 60 seconds by default, adjustable from 20 seconds to 5 minutes
- Squats: 5 by default, up to 50, counted by your camera
- Pushups: 5 by default, up to 50, counted by your camera
- Tap: 2,000 taps by default, for when you can't stand up
Ultra Locked In
For exam weeks, Pro has a mode called Ultra Locked In. It removes every way out: no unlock action, no gems and no ads. Your apps stay blocked until the session finishes.
StudyDork reminds you before each session starts, because once you're in, you're in.

StudyDork is free on iPhone and iPad. Android is coming soon to Google Play.
