Study with friends

What a study clan is

A clan is a study group inside StudyDork. It can hold up to 50 members, and it has its own study room, its own chat and its own place on the clan leaderboard.

Every clan has a leader, up to three co-leaders and its members. Leaders choose a badge from 60 designs and decide who can join.

Joining or starting a clan

You can search for a clan by name or by its tag, or browse clans suggested for you. Each clan picks how people get in:

• Open: anyone can join straight away
• Invite only: you send a request and a leader approves it
• Closed: no new members for now

See who's focusing, live

Your clan's study room is a library with 50 seats. Every clanmate who is in a focus session appears at a desk as their Dorkling, so you can see at a glance who is studying right now.

Tap a clanmate to see what they're studying and for how long. Tap an empty seat and your own session starts there, with your apps blocked like any other session.

Clans can choose between four study rooms, each with its own look.

Chat and shared goals

Each clan has a chat for the group. It's the place to say you're starting a session, ask about tomorrow's quiz or tell everyone to get off their phones.

Every full hour a member spends locked in the clan room adds to the clan's Hours locked in. Clans are ranked by it on the Clans tab of the leaderboard, so the whole group works towards the same total.

Friends

Outside your clan, you can add friends by sending a friend request. You can visit a friend's room to see how they've decorated it, and leave a rating.

Invite three friends to StudyDork and you get 3,000 gems as a thank you.
